First Day of School 2007

Well, it's that time again, the first day of school. 

Brenna is starting 2nd grade this year -- can anyone believe that?  Wasn't it just yesterday she looked like this?

(well, at least, in my mind, it feels like just yesterday.)

In keeping with the tradition my mother started with us kid when we were in school, I always take pictures of her on the first day.

From left to right, those are -- preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. 

Isn't she getting big? I can hardly believe how fast she's turning into a little lady. Kind of scary how fast they grow. *sniffles*

What a cool tradition, taking pictures on the first day of school! I wish I would have thought of this. My youngest is in the 4th grade now and I have one in 9th grade and one in 11th grade. One of my kids is 23 and has been out of school for several years now. It's so important to hang onto these years, and really we should hang onto these MINUTES. I'm like you, it makes me sad to think that our babies are getting older. Thanks for sharing... AND tell Brenna how beautiful of a little lady I think she is:)

Thanks :-) My mom has albums full of nothing but our First Day of School pictures (there were fiver of us kids, after all). We'd all stand in the front yard in front of the gate... although one year I remember us sitting in the grass all together, too.

It's neat to see how much she's changing from year to year, too, I think. And yes, it is important to hold onto these times, as they are so short and fleeting.
